If you’ve been following the local news from the beginning of the year you will have noticed that one of the “hotspots” in our community has been the lack of daycare facilities for children. While it appears that due to the efforts of our town council there will be a new daycare facility open up at the former James A. Magee school – it is still something that will require ongoing funding year after year if it is to remain in operation. Childcare is a real need in our community for those families where more than one parent works during the day.

From the Word:

Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. Proverbs 22:6 (NIV)

Prayer Points:

• pray that adequate care will be available for children in our community and that the necessary funding will be obtained.
• pray that whatever childcare facilities are provided that it will be staffed by Godly people.
• Pray for the parents who need to leave their children in childcare that they will not resort to daycare or babysitters as the primary caregivers for their children and that they will take the responsibility of raising their children seriously.
• pray that God will lead us as a church in ways that we can assist in this great need in the community (after school programs/activities, possible daycare in the future?, help for parents etc.)
