According to the list posted on the town of Hanover website there are over 100 different community groups and organizations serving the community. Many of these organizations are lead entirely by a team of volunteers who willingly give of their time and gifts to help lead. It be interesting if we could survey how many of these community groups and organizations are led by Christians. I wonder what the results would be? At any rate, if HPC is to truly be a “City on a Hill” in our community would it not make sense to volunteer in some of these community groups - even spearhead a few ourself?

Prayer Points:

•  Pray for the people who volunteer their time in various community groups/ organizations.
• Pray that God will show you organizations that you might be able to volunteer with.

Take Action!

Look over the list of community organizations on the town of Hanover Website or read the “community” section of the local paper. Are there any that seem interesting to you? Consider joining one of those organizations and offering your help. 

For Parents..

There are less opportunities for younger children to be volunteer for things but for those of you with older children try and find organizations/events in the community where you can encourage them to volunteer. Remember, however that it’s better to lead by example!
