As part of our arrangements with British Airways, the Zimbabwe 2007 team is able to pack two extra bags per team member and each bag can weigh 50lbs.  This means we can take an extra 400lbs of stuff with us when we go to Zimbabwe!  This is a blessing because the cost to ship things to Zimbabwe is fairly expensive.  We’d like to make the best use of this opportunity as possible and so we’ve collaborated with the Directors of the Village of Hope, Gord and Anita Cooledge, to come up with a list of items that could be used there.

We are promoting this list in as many ways as we can in the belief that the more people that have the opportunity to contribute the greater the potential of us being able to take as much as possible!

You’ll notice that the list is prioritized.  This is so that we have some idea as to the relative value of each item to the Village of Hope.  All the items will be helpful but if it turns out that we have to pick and choose because of our weight limits we’ll know what we’ll have to leave behind.  Any items that we cannot take with us because of weight restrictions when we are packing we will set aside for a future trip and/or consider shipping.

If you can contribute any of these items (or can arrange for others to contribute!) please contact us and let us know.  It would be most helpful if you could deliver the items to the church but if necessary we will arrange pick-up if it’s not too far.  If you are a business or corporation making a donation of any of these items we’d be happy to arrange for shipping if necessary.  As we receive items we will update this list and check off what we have so as to avoid any duplicates (so check back often!).   Thanks in advance for your gifts to the Village of Hope!
