The most important people in children’s lives are their parents. It is the parents or guardians of a child that will have the most influence in what that child grows up to be. Parents have a great responsibility in caring for and teaching their children – a task that can often times be overwhelming – especially in the cases where the parents themselves never had good role models in the parents they grew up with. Please take some time to lift up the parents and those acting as parents in our community this morning.

What do you think are some of the biggest challenges parents face today? 

Prayer Points:

• Pray that God will grant parents wisdom in their role.
• Pray that God will bring help to those parents who are not taking their responsibility seriously
• Pray that parents who didn’t have a good role model growing up will be mentored by someone who can help them
• Pray that God will show us as a church how we can help parents!
• Pray for the salvation of parents who don’t believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour

Take Action!

As a parent of 4 young children I am aware of how hard it is to get away with my wife for a date and a chance to get a break. Consider offering to babysit the children of some parents you know for an evening so they can get away for a some time together. You’d be amazed how much difference a small guesture like that can mean to parents!
