There are a great number of community groups (some Christian, some not) that have a passion for children and a compassion for helping them with the kinds of things that will support their growth towards maturity. A couple of community groups are:

• Scouts/guides/beavers.
• Big Brothers/Big Sisters
• Youth For Christ
• Sports organizations

From the Word:

Psalm 68:5

Prayer Points:

• Pray for the community groups that help children.
• Many of these groups would simply not be able to function without volunteers – pray that godly people will volunteer.
• Pray that there will be accountability for these groups if they stray into doing things for/with children that will cause more harm than good.
• Pray for the salvation of the leaders and volunteers of these community organizations that do not know Jesus as Lord and Saviour.

Take Action!

Take some time to consider if there are any community groups that you can volunteer with that help children. Some community groups are definitely not Christian based but the framework is there for you to model your faith in a child’s life through your participation with the organization.
