We arrived in London safely about to leave for Harare
Hi folks, had trouble tracking down some internet access so it’s a bit of a late update (late for us, early afternoon for you :). We had a great flight over to London from Toronto. Some guys are feeling pretty groggy because of the jet lag but most of us are doing great! We had a nice day doing a whirlwind tour of London while waiting for our next flight including a monstrous 453 stair climb to the top of St. Paul’s Cathedral. Every guy made the climb! And, well, let’s just say we are actually looking forward to being able to sit down in the plane hehe.
We had a great day today but the guys are definitely looking forward to the destination of our journey which is Harare. If all goes well, we’ll arrive in Harare at 7:45am Harare time (6 hours ahead of most of you folks). Everyone is healthy and so far things have gone really smoothly. All our baggage made it through the first check in Toronto and we’ll see if it arrives safely in Harare.
Please continue to pray that the luggage makes it through customs in Harare without a hitch!
It’s amazing the people that have seen our “Hanover to Harare” shirts and have inquired what we’re up to. We even ran into a women from Toronto on the subway in London! Chris talked to a lady in the Toronto airport and gave her the address of our website because she expressed interest in donating to the project! (by the way, the donation link is no longer available on the zimbabwe information page ( www.gohpc.net/get-involved/zimbabwe-2007) but if you go to the Missions Family page there is a donation link that you can donate through Canada Helps, just choose Zimbabwe 2007 from the drop down menu when you get there.
Well, we’re excited for what tomorrow may bring. We may not be able to update for a few days because we don’t know what the ISP access is like but we’ll send off emails as soon as possible.
Finally, a brief note to our families - we don’t have a lot of time with this connection so we may not be able to get personal emails off - we love you and we’ll be in touch as soon as we can.
Till the next update… - Darren Ethier and the Zimbabwe 2007 team
