Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

It's that time of year again!  May you have a blessed time with family and friends during this season of celebrating the incarnation.  Incredible! "God with Us..." what an amazing message of hope.

Village of Hope Website launched

I'm pleased to announce the launch of the website for the Village of Hope in Zimbabwe. Our church is partners with the work being done in Zimbabwe and Pastor Darren donated his skills as a web developer to design and host their website. This will provide a new tool for Gord and Anita Cooledge to promote the Village of Hope and communicate with current and potential supporters about what's happening at the Village. Check it out at vohzimbabwe.com!

Change in Time for PowerPrayer

I just wanted to make the announcement that there has been a change in time for PowerPrayer on Thursday nights.  It is now from 6:45-7:45pm.

Zimbabwe 2007 - What’s Next?

At Hanover Pentecostal Church on Sunday September 16th @ 10:30am the guys from the Zimbabwe 2007 team will be making a presentation about the Zimbabwe 2007 Project.  We invite all those who supported us and who have been following the project's progress to come and hear about our experiences there.  We will be sharing pictures, video, and stories that will give you insight into the blessings that we were able to pass on while there and the changes this trip worked in our lives.  We will also be sharing about what's next as we talk about our continuing involvement with Read rest of post...

Crisis in Zimbabwe

CNN reports on the worsening economic crisis in Zimbabwe.  Inflation is officially pegged at 4500% by the Zimbabwe government but outside sources put it closer to double that.  After being in Zimbabwe I certainly believe it's the latter.  Keep praying for the country...things are getting worse every day.

People in ministry…

Elaine Kaster, a young woman who attends HPC, has started working at "The Deck" which is a centre for junior and senior youth here in Hanover. "The Deck" is operated by Youth for Christ/Youth Unlimited Hanover. Elaine is raising support to help fund her work there. For more information and to get in touch with Elaine if you are interested in helping her out email her. Congratulations Elaine!

“Spread the News and Rejoice!” Special Service

Spread the News and Rejoice! (Special Service)

On Sunday, July 1st we will be having a special service called “Spread the News and Rejoice!” The focus of the service is testifying to the work of God in our lives and His incredible blessing. We will be having an “open mic” format where we will encourage anyone who would like to share up to 2 minutes max (so as many people as possible can get a turn) about something great that God has done in their life.

This is your opportunity to give God glory and praise His name. You don’t have to say a lot - even a single sentence saying thank-you is great! We will also sing praise and worship choruses in between testimonies. Mark this date on your calendar and come prepared to bless God with our thanks and our praise and also encourage each other with the stories of God’s work in our midst!

Moving on…

This past Sunday Pastor Nancy announced her resignation as our Associate Pastor. We are saddened to see her go but are trusting that God is leading her to the place where He wants her to serve. Pastor Nancy served HPC faithfully for 4 years and she will be greatly missed! An excerpt from her address to the congregation: Life is never a static thing, we move from experience to experience as the Lord directs. Change is seldom easy for any of us, however if our desire is to serve the Lord wherever and whenever, we must be ready to change and Read rest of post...

Fill the Bags (Village of Hope Needs List for Zimbabwe 2007)

As part of our arrangements with British Airways, the Zimbabwe 2007 team is able to pack two extra bags per team member and each bag can weigh 50lbs.  This means we can take an extra 400lbs of stuff with us when we go to Zimbabwe!  This is a blessing because the cost to ship things to Zimbabwe is fairly expensive.  We'd like to make the best use of this opportunity as possible and so we've collaborated with the Directors of the Village of Hope, Gord and Anita Cooledge, to come up with a list of items that could be used Read rest of post...
