Teaching ESL to parents of children
From the Cooledges November Newsletter:
One the challenges we have faced this year is English! Our sponsored children are immersed in Shona at home, and their parents have a low level of education and hardly speak English themselves. And so we have watched several grade ones close to failing without support at home, because school is taught entirely in English. In response we had a meeting with the parents to ask how we could help. This help will come in the form of ?ESL? For House Moms
Each home in the "Village of Hope" will have a "house mom" who looks after a group of children. Pray for Godly and Spirit-filled woman who will serve in this role as the homes get built.
Regarding the Zimbabwe Economy
Pray for integrity in all we do, and for help for the people of Zimbabwe, as the economy spirals down and inflation approaches 700% [UPDATE: now at 2000%! as of January 2007].
Registration for the Village of Hope, Zimbabwe
This will allow the Cooledges to build, fill and operate as an orphanage! This is a slow and difficult process in the current political and economic climate.
