The Importance of Reading
Reading has been a lifelong joy of mine. My parents introduced me to reading at a very young age - I'll never forget the thrill of receiving a brand new Dr. Suess book through the mail and would quickly consume it's contents before doing anything else. Of course, my reading selections have changed over the years - "Green Eggs and Ham" starts to lose it's appeal after a while.
Reading expands the mind, it stokes the imagination, it exercises your brain, it challenges your thinking...there's so much good that reading can do - and yet it seems to be a dying Read rest of post...
The Ten Commandments of Purity
I came across these recently, good stuff for a husband and wife to look over ;) !
1. I shall have no other human relationships before my spouse, including the kids.

I [...]
Training the Next Generation

Help them to acquire knowledge
help them broaden their perspective (Introduce them to the Bible, Introduce them to wise people)
Help them cultivate convictions
Help them develop skills
Help them establish character (Protect their minds from evil thoughts, Don't protect them from difficulty)
Some wise words!
Article Find: “4 Communication Firecrackers”
H. Kent Hughes writes a good article about the communication "firecrackers" that couples can unwittingly throw into the smoldering flames of an argument. He starts by saying,
Many couples argue like that burning leaf pile. There's a conflict (fire) between them. Then they throw in some communication firecrackers, which serve only to spread and intensify the conflict by putting their spouse on the defensive.
Here's a quick summary of the firecrackers - please go and read the entire article - it goes further into giving an Read rest of post...
