Hi there folks - it's getting late and I'm tired and there's a long day tomorrow but I thought I'd send out this quick update being that I missed yesterday's due to the power being out and not being able to attain an internet connection.
June 18th: - Kevin and James were the first two from the team to go visit the "plots" in the morning. The plots are places where farmhands live on the land that belongs to a farmer. A farmhand makes about 200 Zimbabwean dollars a month. Read that again in light of the Zimbabwe

Hi folks! Today we woke up to father's day and for us Dad's it was a bit of an emotional day away from home as we miss our families. The gifts and contact from our families certainly helped alot :) Thanks!
We started out the day by making our way to Sunday School class at the Hope Community Church on the village grounds and Kevin and James went to the youth class while the rest of the team joined the men for their class. Following Sunday School we joined in with the service and WOW - things sure were

Hi there folks! Another day has come and gone here in Zimbabwe. Did you know that the Zimbabwean day is nearly always 12hours long? The sun rises at 6am and sets at 6pm (give or take a few minutes). When the sun rises, it's bright - when the sun sets its dark, almost immediately - the sunrise and sunset don't last very long. Needless to say it's pretty interesting for us Canadian folks used to wide varieties of seasonal daylight hours!
Today was a great day. We got a chance to join in with a community

Mangwanani! (Good Morning in Shona - good morning for you anyways!)
Finally here! I'm sitting in an office at the Villag of Hope on a slow connection but nevertheless able to email off this update of our arrival safe and sound in Harare!
The flight was 10 hours long but was relatively uneventful - arriving at the airport in Harare was a remarkable difference for the hectic, crowded pace of the airports at Toronto and London. We were the only plane that arrive this morning (it's now 4:20pm here in Harare, which = 10:45am EST). Everyone got through customs

Hi folks, had trouble tracking down some internet access so it's a bit of a late update (late for us, early afternoon for you :). We had a great flight over to London from Toronto. Some guys are feeling pretty groggy because of the jet lag but most of us are doing great! We had a nice day doing a whirlwind tour of London while waiting for our next flight including a monstrous 453 stair climb to the top of St. Paul's Cathedral. Every guy made the climb! And, well, let's just say we are

Bags are packed, vehicles are loaded, and we're heading to Toronto for boarding the plane. The emotions of all the guys are mixed as we say good byes to our families and our hellos to each other in anticipation of this incredible two week journey. We definitely feel the weight of responsibility with all the stuff we're taking with us to bless the Zimbabwean people as well as the support that has been given towards us from all of you who have helped!
If all goes well, we will update again when we arrive in London.
Till next update...

Hi folks! The team participated in a great service at HPC on Sunday morning where we received a commissioning and encouraging send off led by Rev. Mark Collins (a leader in our church district) and the congregation. If you were to talk to any team member you'd discover that we're really "pumped up" about going! It's hard to believe that we're finally zeroing in on our departure date.
We're also really excited about being able to go and serve at the Village of Hope in Zimbabwe and meet the kids and the workers there. On Sunday we received an
